Family Resource Centre
This free service provides over 150 different resources to children, teens and adults in the form of books, games, videos and cassettes through a lending library system that is located in the lobby of the Provincial Building. These resources explore a variety of issues important to living a healthy life.
Youth Activity Program
is held at the Blindman Youth Action Centre Wednesday at 3:30- 5:30 and Thursday 3:30- 7:30. Pre-registration is not required and programming varies from week to week so there is something for everyone. Ages 10-17 are welcome to attend. Call FCSS for information.
Seniors Information Resource Centre
is located in the Rimbey Drop In Center. This new venture promotes computer use within the senior population. Trained volunteers will be on hand to help with seniors' applications to government programs. Computer classes will be held periodically. Call for dates and details.
Parenting Group
is held every Tuesday morning in the Parent Link Centre at the Provincial Building. Call for details of scheduled events.
Home Support Services
are available to those who require assistance with their weekly house -keeping. This program is designed to help senior citizens and those with disabilities with household chores, meal preparation and shopping. There is a fee for this service. Call for details.
Babies First
is a program for expectant mothers and offers prenatal classes, nutrition check up, nursing support and breastfeeding support. Call for more information on being a part of this program.
Volunteer Centre
A volunteer centre is a non-profit organization or program dedicated to supporting the needs of volunteers as well as the community organizations that need help.
Palliative Care
Volunteers are available to assist family members who are living with terminal illness at home or in the hospital.
Seniors Information & Referral Service
is now located at the Drop In Center. Information is still available at FCSS as well.
Rimbey Adult Day Support "Tuesday Club"
Held every Tuesday 9:30 am to 3:00 p.m. in the Provincial Building. Contact 403-843-2288 for more information. This program is designed to give respite to families and is helpful for the isolated or lonely individuals who enjoy music, crafts, fun, entertainment, & mental aerobics.
